The vineyard, which was originally called Vigna Amena, has its roots in the splendid scenery of the Castelli Romani. The Farm covers roughly 18 hectares of land, which is currently completely devoted to the organic cultivation of grapes, with the exception of a small olive grove. The geographical position, the volcanic soil structure and the particularly good exposure enable the ideal conditions for a healthy and well-balanced growth of the vines.

The altitude of our vineyards, which is suitable for the production of D.O.C. wine, is located about 250m above sea level. The mild and sunny climate that the Roman countryside provides and the particularly good exposure generate the ideal conditions for a healthy and balanced growth of the vines.
The organic grapes are harvested manually in the early hours of daybreak and selected bunch by bunch, they are transported immediately to the our cellar where they are de-stemmed.
Producing organic wines and get the certification year after year means first and foremost adhering to strict rules in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. All synthetic products are excluded from our vineyards: everything must be of natural origin. By doing so we respect the natural of the vine as well as the health of the consumer.
The grapes are harvested by hand at an advanced ripeness with a careful selection of each bunch in the vineyard. The production process is carried out according to modern wine-making techniques but with a meticulous respect for tradition.
Cantinamena vinifies its own grapes separately for each variety in steel tanks. Then the wine begins its aging process in French oak barrels.

Area of the estate
At the foot of the town of Lanuvio, surrounded by greenery between the Roman countryside and Agropontino, stands Amena vineyard (hence the name CantinAmena) which extends for 18 hectares in a strategic position to exploit the mild sea currents of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the coldest of the Roman castles and of the nearby Simbruini mountains.
